Scottsdale, Arizona · October 29, 2026 · By Brett Yanofsky

Why ROCK, a Scottsdale water brand, puts natural spring water in a 12oz aluminum can and will never use plastic. Here is how we think about the can.

If you are looking for aluminum can water in Arizona, the short answer is that ROCK made the can a starting point, not an afterthought. We are a water brand based in Scottsdale, and every ROCK is natural spring water in a 12oz aluminum can. Not plastic. Not glass. We chose aluminum on day one and we will never use plastic. Here is why the can matters to us, and why it fits the way people live across the Valley.

Why we chose aluminum can water in Arizona

ROCK started with a simple problem. Brett Yanofsky, our founder, could not find a water brand he actually connected with. Plastic felt off. Glass did not make sense everywhere. Most canned options did not reflect how he lives. You can read the full version in Brett's founder story.

When he sat down to build ROCK in Scottsdale in July 2025, the package was the first decision, not the last. A can said what he wanted the brand to say before anyone took a sip. It is clean. It is simple. It goes everywhere. And it is made from a material that can come back around again.

That last part is the big one. Aluminum is infinitely recyclable. A can that gets recycled can become a can again, and again after that. That is the kind of loop we want to be part of.

What we mean by never plastic

Never plastic is a line we drew early, and it is not one we plan to move. It means:

We are not here to lecture anyone. Plenty of people grab whatever is in the cooler, and that is fine. We just think the default can be better, and we would rather build the better default than talk about it. As we like to put it, "Nothing is more basic to the quality of life than the quality of the water you drink." The container is part of that quality for us.

The can is also only one piece of how we think about the planet. ROCK gives 1% of sales to environmental causes through 1% for the Planet. You can see how that works on our 1% for the Planet page.

Why a can fits life in the Valley

Arizona is an outdoor place. Days start early and run long. A can just works here.

Arizona summers are hot and dry, so carrying water and drinking regularly is standard advice for anyone outdoors. For heat safety guidance, the National Weather Service in Phoenix is a good place to start. Our job is simpler. We want the water you reach for to be one you actually like carrying.

What is inside the can

The can is the first thing you see, so what is inside has to hold up too. ROCK is natural spring water with minerals and electrolytes. It has 0 sugar, 0 calories and nothing artificial. That is the whole list. No sweeteners, no flavors, nothing extra.

We keep the product simple on purpose. Good water, in a can you feel good about, from a brand built in Scottsdale. If you want to learn more about the role electrolytes play in everyday life, our electrolytes page covers the basics.

How to get ROCK at home

ROCK comes in 12-packs. A 12-pack is $34 one time, or you can subscribe and save 30% at $23.80 a 12-pack. Deliveries can come every 2 weeks, every month or every 2 months, and you can skip, pause or cancel anytime.

One honest note. Still water is on presale right now, so orders placed today ship in January 2027. We would rather tell you that up front than surprise you later. You can place a presale order or set up a subscription on our shop page.

Sparkling is coming too. It will be in the same 12oz aluminum can, because the can is not up for debate. Fuel for life, in a container that can come back around.
